Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Curated (“we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Curated is a dating service, so some of the data we handle is sensitive. We only collect what we need to run the Service.
Data we collect
- Account: your phone number or email address, and verification records.
- Profile:first name, age, gender, who you’re interested in, your city and neighbourhood, and the photos you upload.
- Voice interview: an audio recording of your onboarding interview and its text transcript.
- Derived data: a private compatibility profile and a public summary generated from your interview, plus match scores.
- Activity: likes, passes, matches, messages, reports, and blocks.
- Location:if you use the “use my location” option, your approximate area derived from your device GPS.
- Technical: device, log, and cookie data needed to keep you signed in and keep the Service secure.
Sensitive data and your consent
Your sexual orientation (implied by who you want to meet) and your voice recording may be treated as sensitive or special-category data under laws such as the GDPR. Where required, we rely on your explicit consent, given when you start the recorded interview and complete your profile, to process this data for matchmaking. You can withdraw consent by deleting your account.
How we use your data
- To create and operate your account and profile.
- To run the AI interview, generate your compatibility profile and public summary, score compatibility, and produce simulated chemistry previews.
- To find and present your weekly matches and enable chats once you match.
- To keep the community safe - reviewing reports, blocks, and suspected abuse.
- To send you service messages (for example, a sign-in link or a new-match notification).
AI processing and third parties
To provide the AI features we share the relevant data with trusted processors who act on our instructions:
- OpenAI - powers the real-time voice interview and transcription.
- Anthropic - generates your compatibility profile, public summary, and the simulated previews.
- Infrastructure providers for hosting, database, file storage, and message delivery (email).
We do not sell your personal data. We share your public profile with other members as part of matching, and we may disclose data if required by law or to protect people from harm.
Event signups:if you join through a dating event’s signup link, we share your name and your compatibility results for that event (who you matched with, and how strong the fit is) with the event’s organisers, as explained when you sign up. We never share your interview recording, transcript, or private compatibility profile with organisers.
Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. Your voice recording and transcript are retained to operate and improve matching. When you request deletion, your profile is hidden immediately and your account is deleted after 30 days. Signing in before deletion cancels the request and makes the profile visible again. We may keep limited records where required to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete your account and data at any time from Settings, or contact us to exercise other rights. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
Security, transfers, and children
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, though no system is perfectly secure. Your data may be processed in countries other than yours, including by the providers above. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards. Curated is strictly for adults 18 and over and is not directed to children.
